Thanks to Britta at MyBlackBookParis for reminding me about Sweet Paul, the beautiful on-line magazine and brainchild of food stylist Paul Lowe.
The combination of blue and white seems to be popping up in a lot of places this spring and I particularly liked these summer flowers arranged at different heights and the postage stamp collage in blue. I have a stash of old stamps that I need to sort through.
In less than three weeks we will go to Paris and Barcelona, and I look forward to seeing Britta again. We will meet at Mamie Gateaux, a cake and tea shop that I’ve always wished to visit. On another evening we’ll enjoy dinner with Britta and Guillaume at their home outside Paris. It was only in September that they visited us here in Vermont.
Much to anticipate.
And here at home it’s a chilly Saturday morning. I’m cooking down 12 cups of onions to make onion marmalade to take to a party this afternoon. The house smells strongly of onions and my eyes are still stinging from the prep, but the side effects of making this marmalade are always worth it. Recipe here. I will serve it with chevre goat cheese and baguette.
Sounds tasty! For a different variation on a theme. Try adding some balsamic vinegar (cut back the sugar by a little) and let it reduce while the onions are cooking.
Thanks Kristen! I’ll try that next time. This batch was especially good. But I think I think this each time I make it.
Beautiful display, beautiful blues.
We also are looking SO forward to see you three again. Cannot believe that it’s only in 2 weeks, I am so excited about it ! Happy weekend, Sue !!!
Absolutely beautiful blog and photographs. So glad I came across it! Thanks for posting the link to Sweet Paul mag, I immediately loved it! Such good ideas all around!
So lovely! Especially like the stamps! x
I like the stamps especially here too. Very inspiring! Beautiful blog.
Thank you for posting this! A new discovery for me and what a lovely one it is. I am very tempted to make my own stamp collages. I used to collect stamps (in another very geeky life) and somewhere there’s a box full of them.
Lucky you to have a box full of stamps. Get geeky!! Have fun.
