July Meadow Eventide
$400.00
Have you ever noticed the intensity of a July sky?
I started this as a daytime piece but it was just so blue and green—as the Vermont days tend to be in July. It needed more range of color, and though it’s modeled on a scene from the lower part of Ellis Farm Road (just up from my Dad’s barn), its final interpretation captures that time before dusk when the sky becomes Technicolor. Before the fireworks show. Or before the fireflies come out.
{Painted en plein air and finished in the studio.}
- 12″ x 12″
- Acrylic on cradled birch panel.
- 1.5″ deep sides painted warm gray. (example of the edge shown in the photos)
