SOLD – Uncle John’s Chevy

John’s Chevy truck sits near the roadside. He has good stories to tell about it, and I always think I’ll write them down and never do. John is a father, brother and grandfather to many in this neighborhood.

He may not be my uncle by kin, but he is the kind and gentle uncle to many of us who live here. Just yesterday he stopped by to bring me a closed gentian flower he picked in his field. He thought I could try to paint it. And I will.
