Bespoke Wedding Dress

I love to use raw edges in sewing. So when my soon to be sister-in-law asked me to adorn her raw silk wedding gown with fabric flowers I jumped at the chance.

Her mother gave me her lace veil to cut up and use in the design (first cut was the hardest). And Deborah chose three colors of raw silk from which I created hand made dimensional flowers that wrapped the dress diagonally from the front bodice to the end of the train. I made leaves from the lace which underlaid the flowers. It was a labor of love and we both were thrilled with the result.
