Bouquet for My Rebel Heart
Before spring deigned to show up in Vermont I bought myself flowers at Rebel Heart in Montpelier.
They cheered me up no end while I waited for April snow to melt and looked hard in the yard for snowdrops and crocus. The magenta stocks lost their petals first. But the orange Star of Bethlehem and the eucalyptus held on for over a month. Just in time for the daffodils to bloom. And all that month I painted them while dreaming of June gardens.
